Who we are

It began with a Thursday bhajan group and one cooking vessel.

In 2022, Vyapari Sewa Samiti Members & Community Leaders and eleven neighbours began cooking for the families of patients at K.R. Hospital. Nearly four decades later the same volunteers' children run study centres, health camps, skill-training units and two elder day-care centres.

Success story

"Someone asks me what I want to become."

Lakshmi's mother works as an agricultural labourer in H.D. Kote. In Class 7 Lakshmi was close to dropping out — she was losing three hours a day walking and had no place to study after dark. She joined our Hampapura evening centre in 2023, and cleared Class 9 with a 78% average.

She wants to be a nurse. Her scholarship covers fees, books and a bicycle. Story and photograph shared with her family's written consent.
